Family Intervention Specialists, Intensive Case Management, Assessments & Treatment Matching
Case management services are designed to compliment as opposed to a replacement for traditional treatments such as therapy and counseling. Each client is assigned a best-fit case manager who works closely and personally with them to ensure that all of their clinical and "outside needs" are being met.
ICM Associates, Inc. has been providing case management services since 2001, and our case managers have experience providing these services for longer than that. Case management should not be confused with recovery coaching or sober coaching (though several staff members are themselves recovering individuals), as case management services are much for comprehensive.

Intensive Case Management Services
Case management services are oriented towards clients who have had multiple previous treatments, co-occurring disorders, young adults, and individuals who have had difficulty transitioning from treatment "back into life".
This model of care is similar to life coaching- with emphasis on mental health and substance abuse recovery.
It consists of a developing a treatment team (if one is not already in place) based on the specific needs of the client, implementing the detailed/individualized plan, and providing life skills training in individual sessions.
Many of our clients struggle with the ability to master basic life skills, causing them stress and frustration while attempting to sustain recovery. They may need assistance in developing social, money management/budgeting, organizational, home care, appointment coordination, time management, and vocational skills.
Each client is assigned a primary case manager to assist them in the development of these goals.
Additionally, the case manager serves as the designated "point of contact" for the family, client, and treating professionals.
The primary goal of case management is to de-fragment the continuing care system, assist the client with becoming more self sufficient, and the promotion of ongoing recovery with life balance.
The Need For Life Skills Development
Clients who have struggled with substance abuse and mental health issues may have life skills that have never fully developed. In their efforts and pursuits for ongoing recovery, they may have not, or do not currently have the mastery of life skills that could facilitate their ability to manage their lives as well as they could.
ICM Associates has recognized this trend with many of our clients, and we have included life skills training as part of our case management services.
Common life skills areas frequently needing development include:
ICM case managers work closely with our clients to assess which areas need the most assistance, and continually reassess their progress and needs.
Once mastery of these skills is developed, stress levels may decrease, and confidence may increase; resulting in the ability to handle the challenges of life while maintaining good mental health.
Creating A Treatment Team
Many of our clients begin case management with a treatment team in place, other do not have one, others are relocating and need to have a team assembled for them.
The case manager and the client work together on identifying treatment and resource needs, and identify appropriate referrals to meet each need.
The case manager will not simply "refer out" but will coordinate the referral by setting the initial appointment, providing detailed information for the provider, and at times, attend the first appointment with the client.
ICM Associates maintains a large database of a variety of professional resources that meet industry standards of excellence.
